Purpose
Get your learners considering how they can positively address the climate crisis through this interactive session focused on energy and power.
Who is it for?
Schools in the Foleshill, Coventry area. Up to two classes of year 5 or 6 learners. One class will receive the activity in the morning and the second in the afternoon.
What's Involved?
Throughout the workshop learners will take part in a range of activities led by our education communicators. These activities include:

Understanding what power is through an interactive demonstration.

Recognise how different appliances use power through a higher or lower challenge and how they can save energy.

Full class demonstration of the National Grid.

Understanding what we mean by renewable energy and testing different wind turbine blade designs.

Putting their learning together as they take part in the fantasy island challenge where they plan where to place the renewable energy resources.

Discover more about careers in energy and sustainability.

Logistics & Planning

The session is designed for around 30 learners.

The room can be a standard classroom, but a projector, screen and power are required.

We ask that a teacher is always present throughout the activities, to support learner engagement and manage behaviour.
When booking, please let us know three date options between
